Yesterday we got back from our vacation from our vacation. Yes, I said that correctly. After the whirlwind of last weekend wrapped up we packed our bags and headed North to Elk Rapids. I love northern Michigan. Personally I think it is absolutely beautiful. It's relaxing, calm, quiet, green, and has the most crystal clear lakes one could ask for. My aunt and uncle have a cottage on Birch lake and that is where we parked our fanny's for a couple of nights. We drove up Sunday night and immediately went to sleep, we were exhausted. Monday consisted of sleeping in, sitting on the dock, jet skiing, naps, reading, ice cream, a drive to Torch lake, a booze cruise (ok, we had one drink while putzing around the lake), and a quick trip to the casino. It was heavenly. Here are a few pictures from our day.

Wednesday morning we woke up and spent a couple hours in the sun and on the lake while Nana and Aunt Mary watched Maddux. After eating lunch it was time to hit the road...but not without a couple family pictures and seeing what Maddux thought of the lake water (Will and I thought it was freezing).
I don't think he liked it....
We had a great get away....it's time to resume the craziness and prepare for the wedding festivities!
